LEO - Learning, Education, Opportunity

LEO is an initiative designed to help young people into training and development. The self-development and vocational programme uses NLP techniques accredited by the National Open College Network (NOCN).

LEO has been created specifically to help those attending address a variety of personal issues and life challenges. The aim of the programme is to support young people, encouraging them to become more personally effective and productive.

As well as delivering powerful learning, the sessions are designed to be stimulating and enjoyable, creating an environment where everyone has an opportunity to appropriately express personal opinions and have their contribution valued.

The programme aims to:

  • Help focus young people;
  • Enable them to identify and take the steps needed in order to achieve their goals;
  • Improve key/basic skills and build personal and vocational development;
  • Facilitate an understanding of the transition towards being part of a work environment.

Key benefits of the programme:

  • Understanding the root causes of negative attitudes and behaviours.
  • Understanding how the mind works and the affect it has on behaviour.
  • Learning how to break through negative attitudes and encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Introducing the impact of self-talk and powerful ways of applying it.
  • Helping individuals effectively move out of their comfort zone in a non-threatening and supportive way.
  • Enhancing self-esteem and self-worth and showing how this can have a positive impact on relationships.
  • Developing self-awareness in relation to managing anger.
  • Building resilience and personal strategies to deal with difficult people.
  • Gaining 'skills for life', including a level 1 NOCN qualification.
The world of work is entirely different and not all young people are fully prepared for it or know which direction to take - LEO can help identify strengths and provide guidance to ease this transition.
